With the ups
and downs of the 2003 season, overall, it has been quite fun. However, it has
now come to an end. Time sure did fly by quickly, especially throughout all the
excitement and new accomplishments that Revtech Racing enjoyed and benefited
from. In bringing the season to a conclusion, REVTECH RACING contributed in
Import Circuit, the newest and latest car show to hit the east coast.
The Import Circuit car show took place at the Asbury Park Convention Center in
Asbury Park, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 25th of 2003. Though the location
was considered rather shabby by some, it surely got the job done. Over
one-hundred and twenty vehicles participated and taken as a whole, many of the
contestants and enthusiasts believed that the show was very enjoyable. Rest
assured, REVTECH RACING took advantage of one of their last events and had much
fun. En route to roll-in, many of the RR members recalled some of their old-time
memories as they took pleasure in reaching speeds in excess of 90 miles per
hour. Some of the daring few even got to max out and reach peak speeds climaxing
to nearly 150 miles per hour! What a drive that must have been!
Unfortunately, Marc Enriquez (founder of RR) was unable to accomplish his 91
Nissan 300ZXTT’s entry into the show due to an unanticipated blown motor prior
to roll-in. Nevertheless, Marc was able to formulate another way of
participating in the show – his bike. Other participants included Jamar Harris’s
95 BMW M3, Erik Dimayuga’s 94 Toyota Supra ST, Jonathan Duque’s 89 Toyota Supra
TT, Bill “BJ” Renkart’s 93 Toyota Supra TT, Paul Contangco’s 00 Toyota Celica GT,
Irene Cornelio’s 00 Toyota Celcia GT, Marcos Pereira’s 98 Honda Civic, Rod
“Tboy” Guanzon’s 00 VW Jetta VR6, Matt Meehan’s 94 Honda Accord EX, Jay
Berends’s 95 VW GTI 2.0, Josh Nierman’s 94 Acura Integra GSR, Mauricio “Lefty”
Velasquez 99 Acura Integra GSR, Jaime (supporter), Brian (supporter) and lastly,
Jerick, Jehan, and Jason Poco’s 99 Mazda RX-7 and 95 Toyota Supra-Celica
(supporters from The Big Deal).
Surely, REVTECH RACING did not leave this season as failures. REVTECH RACING
left the show with wins in two prestigous categories: Best Quality & Best
Representation. In addition, a few select RR members were also fortunate to win:
Mauricio “Lefty” Velasquez – 99 GSR – 3rd place Acura
Jamar Harris – 95 M3 – 3rd place BMW
Erik Dimayuga – 94 Supra – Best Street
As usual, this show, like many others, emerged to be a very long and tiring day.
However, it seems that the the general population was relatively satisfied by
the end of the day. A special recognition of appreciation and gratitude goes out
to the RR Staff and all of RR in its entirety for making the successful
accomplishments in the 2003 season. Though this season is over, it does not mean
it is the end. In fact, it is the beginning – the beginning of preparation for
next year’s success! RR is certainly looking confidently forward to a stronger
entry into the 2004 (March) season. In the meantime, be sure to keep your eyes
open for us on the streets…and don’t forget to sneak a glance at the rest of
this site.
