As expected NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals saw records fall and new levels of import racing achieved as racers from all areas descended on Raceway Park October 5th and 6th. The cooler weather definitely benefited the racers, turbo guys especially, since we saw some of the fastest time slips in those 48 hours than we saw all year. The racing action, packed bleachers and huge company sponsored trailers showed that import racing is definitely growing in major ways and may be at the level of the Top Fuel dragsters in the very near future.
Sunday saw REVTECH RACING come out in force to show that they are not just a car show club. Showing up bright and early and ready to take on the quarter mile were: Marc Enriquez(Nissan 300ZX TT), Marty Enriquez(VW Golf 1.8T), Bill “BJ” Renkart(Juiced Subaru WRX), Eric Dimayuga(Juiced Lexus IS300), Ahmed Shamoo(Boosted Acura Integra LS), Kuljeet Kasuri(BMW M Roadster), Jonathan Duque(Acura RSX), RJ Padua(VW Golf 1.8T), Josh Nierman(Acura Integra), and Brian Smoltch(VW Jetta)…and a BIG shout out to Brian for hooking us up with the burgers and hot dogs that kept us going all day long!!! Thanx again, man!!!
Also showing support were the peeps from Z00MxNYC, as they always do. Shouts to Jimmy, Jerry, and Frank for always coming through when it’s needed. REVTECH RACING’s very own Turbo Celica was also on display for folks to gawk at, complete with a fresh new bumper to show off that pretty intercooler. Paul Cotangco’s blue showpiece had the day off from racing, but nonetheless still commanded attention from fans and racers alike as all who drove, walked, or rode by had to pause and convince themselves that YES that was a turbo Celica they just passed, hehe.
Sunday also hosted a car show while the races went on in the background, and YES, REVTECH RACING was also represented in that arena as well; by none other than Mauricio “Lefty” Velasquez and his Pearl White Wide Body Integra GSR-which by the way, has been added to the Showroom section, complete with an in-depth article as well as photos…don’t forget to check it out!
Overall, it was quite a day at the track for REVTECH RACING as Jonathan Duque in his first day racing and RJ Padua in his second time at the track took the competition deep into the fourth round before being eliminated. Pat yourselves on the back guys, you definitely did a good job reppin’ REVTECH RACING, and we hope to see you going further next time out. With members coming as far as Virginia and Maryland that day, it definitely showed the support we have for each other as not only teammates but more so like family in this thing we call REVTECH RACING. November 3rd will be the last track day for REVTECH RACING and we hope to see another big turnout as we did at Fall Nationals…and if you happen to be there and see us at the booth come by and give us a shout!!
