The last car show of the year on the REVTECH RACING
calendar also happened to be the last show of the year for Eurasian Concepts
Import Eurasia series October 12th. Set in the same venue as the very first EC
show last November 10th - The Garden State Exhibition Center in Somerset, the
growth that Eurasian Concepts has undergone was very evident as the show was
twice as big with twice as many cars on display inside as well as outside.
Mother Nature must not have been too thrilled about the car show season ending
so soon as the heavens wept for two days prior as well as the day of the event
as well. However, the sogginess wasn’t enough to damper the spirits of the
hundreds who filed through the doors to get one last look at what the East Coast
has to offer for one last time this season.
Import Eurasia perennials Team Toyminator, Team Alpha, Team ISS, and REVTECH
RACING were in attendance as well as many other crews including Team Ultima from
NYC, Classified Tuning, and RIXplozion. Although the weather was chilly and
rainy, it didn’t keep REVTECH RACING from as always having one of the hotter
booths at the show. With DJ Bboy spinning as he braved the elements and the
REVTECH ladies, Laura, Jessica, and Renzie strutting their stuff, we showed that
a lil precipitation is nothing when you are there to show people how it is done.
However, we must admit we were a bit disappointed to see that other crews had
their DJ’s and models inside when we were told there wouldn’t be, we didn’t
sweat it, cause we all know who started the trend in the first place – can
anyone say Hot Import Nights ’01??
It seemed that many more models and model hopefuls were in attendance than at
most of the shows of this season. Of course, the lovely Anissa Tong, Judy Cage,
Linda Tran, Coral, and Lori Ann were on hand to please and tease the crowd
signing autographs and posing for photos with their die-hard fans. Carlos and
the CL Models crew were working hard taking sample shots of the many aspiring
models that came out. Who knows the next Miss Import Eurasia may have been
discovered that night.
Being the last show of the season for REVTECH RACING, we wanted to make sure we
went out with a bang…and that’s exactly what we did. Taking home nine – that’s
right NINE trophies, once again REVTECH RACING showed that they are steadfastly
becoming one of the top teams in the East Coast and it will only get better as
the seasons go by. Among the winners were: Paul Cotangco (Second Place Toyota),
Eric Dimayuga (Third Place 4 Door), Mauricio Velasquez (Second Place Acura),
Jonathan Duque (Third Place Acura), Kyle Richardson (Second Place Honda),
Richard De La Cruz (Third Place Nissan), and Irene Cornelio (Third Place
Toyota). Moreover, as a whole REVTECH RACING took home the trophy for BEST TEAM
REPRESENTATION for the second time this season. Congratulations to all the
winners, all that hard work has finally paid itself off!
Lastly, since this was the last show for REVTECH RACING this season, we wanted
to shout a few people out that always came through for us and showed support all
year. Z00MxNYC, of course, for the late night help before shows and the rides to
and from the venues. Jeff, Marcos and the GRAFX crew for always keeping us
stickered up and looking good, not to mention always coming through with last
minute sticker needs and help at the shows. Special shout to Classified Tuning
for showing love at the Somerset show.
Now that the 2002 show and race season has ended, it’s back the drawing board
for many of the vehicles. Look for many revamped and reworked REVTECH RACING
cars as they undergo many top-secret modifications over the winter months. Also,
look out for REVTECH RACING/Z00MxNYC sponsored parties at a club near you this
winter. That’s right!! We know how to party too!! November 15th Club Rio,
