November 10, 2001. As the sun set over Somerset, New Jersey, to mark the end of yet another day, countless import fanatics crowded into the Garden State Exhibition Center to mark the beginning of an innovative succession of import car shows. Hosted by Eurasian Concepts, Import Eurasia made its debut on the east coast and integrated hundreds of spirited import enthusiasts. In compliment of the main focus, being the car show, of course, the event also boasted a modeling contest, break dancing competition and an assortment of DJ’s keeping the crowd on their toes. The temperature was definitely on a rise as people maneuvered between cars, stepping to each pound of the bass, and the beautiful models made their marks.
REVTECH RACING marked their territory directly in front of the main stage with 16 cars, a DJ booth, and vendor booths for car parts as well as model memorabilia. Participants in the car show and competition included a 1995 Acura Integra LS (Waldemar Arent), a 2000 Celica GT (Paul Contango), a 1996 Mazda MX6 (Byron Garcia), a 1995 BMW M3 (Jamar Harris), a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T (Juan Lugo), a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T (Hugo Alvarez), and a 1996 Honda Civic HB (Chris Terebecki), all of whom are REVTECH RACING members, as well as and additional 9 REVTECH RACING supporters. Now take a minute and focus on Paul’s Celica and Byron’s MX6. Zoom in if you have to! These two took home 3nd place for “Best Toyota” and 2rd place for “Best Other Import”, respectively. They deserved it, don’t you think?
Paul has definitely worked his sense of style into his ride. He snatches your attention with his carbon fiber hood, and as you get closer, all of a sudden the sound of tires spinning and motors revving seems to get progressively louder. Take a peek inside and find out why! Is that Jamar testing out the PS2 again? There’s never and end to the surprises this Celica holds. But in order for you to find out more, keep checking back for the all new MEMBERS SECTION! (Bookmark this site NOW, if you haven’t already!)
And Byron’s MX6. An extraordinary work of art, indeed! His body kit alone captures the spotlight and screams, “Out of my way, MR. YELLOW! I’m comin’ through!” You all know what I’m talking about, right? If not, never mind. Just know that REVTECH RACING has emerged with direct competition. Bring it! It’s on! (Oh yeah… No pressure, Byron!)
There was a lot of excitement weaving through the throngs of people, from the exotic models to the stunning cars. And with the REVTECH RACING banner spanned across 16 windshields and each of the members rockin’ their REVTECH RACING shirts and jerseys, how could you miss such a massive depiction of team spirit? “BEST TEAM REPRESENTATION”, BABY!! They definitely went all out and made the best of what they’ve got! With over 50 current members, the team is only expanding and their cars are only getting wilder and faster!
The show overall turned out to be a success for Eurasian Concepts’ first attempt. Participants and spectators alike were able to come together one last time for the 2001 show season and share in their passion for imports. Individual expressions of creativity were expressed throughout the house and lasting impressions were formed within our minds. The close of the show at 2am marked yet another end as well as beginning. REVTECH RACING has since begun new projects and formed new goals. The winter season is here, meaning we’ll see you in a few months; at the end of the down season, and the beginning of the new. There will never be an end without another beginning. REVTECH RACING will keep on movin’!
